Drywall screws, also known as Sheetrock screws, are specialized screws designed for use in installing drywall. They are typically made of hardened steel with a sharp, self-tapping point and a bugle head that is designed to sit flush with the surface of the drywall. Drywall screws are used for fastening sheets of drywall to wall studs or ceiling joists. They have deeper threads than regular screws, which prevents them from dislodging easily from the drywall. There are four types of drywall screws, which all serve different purposes
